History

eVision Media first began when Susan Friesen, owner, decided to go back to school. While earning her business degree, she worked on client sites in between studying and exams. Once she graduated, eVision Media (then named Heavenly New Media) started to form a more solid stance in the web development industry and since those humble beginnings in 1999, it has grown immensely.

As the "eBusiness" in our name suggests, our service offerings can help your business establish and succeed in the rapidly growing realm of the Internet. Our services range from web development and e-commerce to eMarketing, graphic design and computer technical services.

Susan Friesen

Owner and President Susan Friesen brings a unique advantage to eVision Media clients by having earned a Bachelor in Business Administration degree with a concentration in Computer Information Systems through the Thompson River's University.

Her eight year's of experience in the Web Development industry has gained her much insight and knowledge in how to create an effectively designed and search engine friendly website. She is a graduate of the Vancouver Film School Multi-Media program and also earned several certificates in technology through the University of Victoria and Athabasca University.

She won the 2003-2004 Governor General's Bronze Academic Award for achieving the highest academic standing in a diploma-level post secondary program.

Susan is a past webmaster for the collectively-owned Hollinger websites such as The Vancouver Sun, The Province, Vancouver Today and others (they are all now under the canada.com umbrella). She currently works with Tourism BC on the North American www.hellobc.com website, as well as the UK and Australian sister sites.

Susan is a member of the Women Designer's Group, a member-based community of women entrepreneurs in web design and development.

Warren Brown

Warren is our senior programmer and has been with eVision Media since February 2007. He is currently in Computer Information Systems (CIS) at the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV). Warren is proficient with the programming and scripting languages we use to build web based applications, such as PHP, ASP, Java, JavaScript, HTML, Action Script, AJAX, XML and CSS. eVision Media's internal communications system is also administrated by Warren.

Ken Li

Ken's real name is Zhuomeng Li - meaning "the little rain in the morning". He is an international student from China Mainland and has been in Canada for 6 years. He is currently a student at UFV in the CIS degree program. Ken joined eVision Media as a junior programmer doing much of the html and CSS coding. During his spare time, he enjoys reading, surfing-online, computer games, and exercising. He also enjoys hanging around with his friends and travelling when he can.

Jared Harder

Jared is also one of our PHP programmers and is also studying CIS at the UFV Abbotsford campus. He is making plans to attend UBC to earn his computer science degree. He has been using computers since he was 12 years old, and programming and coding since 16. He is proficient in PHP, Java, JavaScript, HTML and CSS. When not in front of a computer, his interests include music, movies, and hanging out with friends.

JiYoung Kim

Jiyoung is one of our graphic designers. She is an international student from Korea and has been in Canada for two years. Her major was Industrial design when she studied at the University in Korea. She is currently a student at the Vancouver Career College in Computer Graphic Design and will graduate this May. Because she studied both industrial design and graphic design, she's can create designs in both 2D and 3D as well! When not studying or working, she loves to travel and read.

Daniel Simmons

Daniel Simmons is the accountant and SEO Specialist for eVision Media. Daniel has earned a Bachelors degree from San Diego State University in Criminal Justice and Public Administration and well as an Associate degrees from The University of Phoenix in Accounting and Grossmont College in Criminal Law. He has a passion for problem solving... whether it is number crunching or boosting the number of visitors to our client's sites, he's the best man for the job!
